Job summary

MatchaTalent is assisting a Brisbane-based, ASX-listed mining and resources company in recruiting a Head of Procurement. The role oversees end-to-end procurement across Australia and Papua New Guinea, driving governance, strategic sourcing, supplier management and cross-border sourcing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Strategic Sourcing.
• 3–5 years of senior procurement leadership experience within mining, heavy resources, or related industries.
• Experience building procurement organisations, governance frameworks, SOPs, and procurement transformation.
• Strong experience across multi-currency environments (AUD, PGK, USD).
• Extensive knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and purchasing governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute end-to-end procurement strategy aligned with operations, projects, and finance.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across Australia and PNG.
• Establish procurement frameworks, frameworks, and governance to improve supply continuity and compliance.
• Lead procurement organization design, recruitment, and capability development.
• Ensure compliance with governance, ethics, and anti-bribery standards while managing supplier risk.
• Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Project Management and Site Leadership to align procurement with timelines and budgets.
