Job summary

Head of Procurement (Mining & Natural Resources) is a senior leadership role overseeing end-to-end procurement for Australia and Papua New Guinea. The role requires frequent travel to PNG to support operations, drive governance, and build a high-performing procurement team.

The successful candidate will lead supplier negotiations, establish frameworks, and ensure uninterrupted material availability across exploration and mining activities, while aligning with project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in procurement governance and building high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Extensive experience with contract negotiation and supplier performance management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead end-to-end procurement strategy for Australia and PNG.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across Australia and PNG.
• Establish procurement governance, SOPs, and delegated authority frameworks.
• Oversee cross-border sourcing, contract management, and compliance with governance standards.
• Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
• Ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and operational needs.
• Lead complex procurement issue resolution including logistics and FX challenges.
• Partner with Finance, Project Managers, and Site Leadership to plan procurement activities.
