Job summary

Atlassian seeks a Head of Detection & Response to lead the global incident detection, response, threat intelligence, and security operations programs. This role drives strategy and measurable outcomes across cloud-first environments, enabling Atlassian to prevent, detect, and respond to threats at scale while building customer trust.

Lead a cross-time-zone organization, establish governance with OKRs and dashboards, and advance automation, post-incident reviews, and durable fixes to reduce risk

Qualifications

• 15+ years in security with leadership of multi-region teams at large cloud-first companies.
• Proven success handling high-severity incidents with executive and customer communications.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, identity, endpoints, data security, CI/CD, and SaaS telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Own global detection and response strategy, roadmap, and investment plan.
• Lead a multi-region organization across time zones with governance dashboards.
• Scale cloud-native detections across identity, data, endpoints, CI/CD, containers, and SaaS.
• Operate a 24x7 IR function with executive comms and regulatory readiness.
• Drive automation and playbooks for rapid containment, eradication and recovery.
