Job summary

UBS is seeking an Investment Banking COO Team Associate in Sydney to support the Global Banking business across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on strategic initiatives, controls, and financial performance.

You will work in a small, proactive team, leveraging data, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to drive efficiency while collaborating with control functions and stakeholders to strengthen governance and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in finance, strategy, risk, compliance, operations or related function within financial services.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving and numerical skills (advanced Excel/Pivot Tables).
• Familiarity with AI tools and interest in applying technology to improve outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to interact with all levels.
• Flexible, organized, and capable of multitasking under pressure.
• Curious about how AI can improve workflows with sound judgment and policy alignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ANZ Global Banking business to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
• Drive front-to-back controls with focus on capital markets and addressing control gaps.
• Manage transaction pipeline reporting and forecasting of revenues.
• Oversee Global Banking transaction approval processes.
• Oversee monthly expense processes including AMEX.
• Prepare key monthly business update submissions.
• Ensure policies are adhered to and challenged as needed.
• Drive profitability through revenue enablement and cost/efficiency opportunities.
• Leverage data, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve processes and decision-making.
