Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a GIS Production Engineer to join a high-performing geospatial delivery team in Canberra. You will contribute to the production, maintenance and enhancement of enterprise GIS data and products supporting mission-critical outcomes.

Working in a secure environment, you will apply geospatial engineering, data management and automation skills to deliver high-quality spatial products at scale, collaborating with engineers and analysts to optimise workflows and contribute

Qualifications

• Experience in GIS production or geospatial data engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of GIS platforms and tools (Esri ArcGIS or equivalent).
• Experience with spatial data formats, coordinate systems, geodatabases, and metadata standards.
• Understanding of geospatial data quality, validation, and production workflows.
• Ability to follow structured production processes with room for improvement.
• Attention to detail in team-based, deadline-driven environments with scripting/automation.

Responsibilities

• Produce, maintain, update, and validate geospatial datasets per standards and production schedules.
• Support end-to-end GIS production workflows including data ingestion, processing, QA, and release.
• Apply spatial analysis and geoprocessing techniques to generate accurate GIS products.
• Develop and maintain automated geospatial production processes using scripting and GIS tools.
• Perform QA and resolve routine data or production issues; escalate complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement.
