Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a GIS Production Engineer to join a high-performing geospatial delivery team in Canberra. You will contribute to the production, maintenance and enhancement of enterprise GIS data and products supporting mission-critical outcomes.

Working in a secure environment, you will apply geospatial engineering, data management and automation skills to deliver high-quality spatial products at scale, collaborating with engineers and analysts to optimise workflows and contribute

Qualifications

Experience in GIS production or geospatial data engineering roles.
Strong knowledge of GIS platforms and tools (Esri ArcGIS or equivalent).
Experience with spatial data formats, coordinate systems, geodatabases, and metadata standards.
Understanding of geospatial data quality, validation, and production workflows.
Ability to follow structured production processes with room for improvement.
Attention to detail in team-based, deadline-driven environments with scripting/automation.

Responsibilities

Produce, maintain, update, and validate geospatial datasets per standards and production schedules.
Support end-to-end GIS production workflows including data ingestion, processing, QA, and release.
Apply spatial analysis and geoprocessing techniques to generate accurate GIS products.
Develop and maintain automated geospatial production processes using scripting and GIS tools.
Perform QA and resolve routine data or production issues; escalate complex problems.
Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement.
