Job summary

Melton City Council seeks a highly motivated GIS professional to capture and manage geospatial data, support asset management, and deliver GIS projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data quality and utility.

• Experience in GIS principles, including the analysis, maintenance and storage of geospatial data.
• Professional certification in GIS, such as GISP-AP from SSSI or Esri Technical Certification.

Responsibilities

• Capture geospatial asset data into Council’s GIS and asset management systems.
• Liaise with stakeholders to gather and maintain geospatial data.
• Cleanse asset data to adhere to requirements.
• Undertake GIS projects to assist in the visualisation, integration, analysis and management of geospatial data.

Full Time Fixed Term Position - until July 2027

Band 6 - Salary Range $97,926 to $106,637 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated team player, with demonstrated experience in using GIS systems for capturing, maintaining and analysing geospatial data. The successful applicant will undertake GIS projects to assist in the visualisation, integration, analysis and management of geospatial data.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Spatial Science, Business Analytics, Surveying or similar, with some relevant experience in the GIS field.
• Experience in and knowledge of GIS principles, including the analysis, maintenance and storage of geospatial data.
• Professional certification in GIS, such as GIS Professional (GISP-AP) from SSSI (Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute), Esri Technical Certification, or other relevant certifications.
