Ascham School seeks a Junior School Learning Enrichment Teacher to design and deliver enrichment and extension programs for highly capable learners across Prep to Year 6. The role focuses on fostering critical thinking, numeracy and creative problem-solving within authentic, student‑centred experiences.

You will lead mathematics extension and collaborate with classroom teachers to tailor learning and support differentiation, ensuring strong student outcomes in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Qualifikationen

• NESA accreditation and relevant teaching qualifications, with postgraduate studies in Gifted Education or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enrichment and extension programs for highly capable learners.
• Strong understanding of gifted education, differentiation and inclusive teaching practices.
• Expertise in supporting diverse learning needs, including gifted and twice-exceptional students.
• Ability to use assessment data to inform teaching, intervention and student progress.
• Experience collaborating with teachers to enhance curriculum differentiation and learning outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and colleagues.
• A collaborative, innovative and student-centred approach, with a passion for helping learners reach their potential.
• Strong organisational skills, professional judgement and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• A valid Working With Children (WWC) clearance.

Aufgaben

• Design and deliver enrichment and extension programs for highly capable, gifted and twice-exceptional students from Prep to Year 6.
• Facilitate small-group and individual learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking and intellectual challenge.
• Lead extension Mathematics programs focused on reasoning, problem-solving and conceptual understanding.
• Develop interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial learning opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world contexts.
• Guide students through authentic inquiry and project-based learning experiences that foster creativity, innovation and collaboration.
• Use assessment data and learning evidence to identify students requiring support, consolidation or extension.
• Contribute to the Junior School's strategic Numeracy initiatives through targeted intervention and enrichment programs.
• Partner with classroom teachers to plan differentiated learning experiences and appropriate challenge for all students.
• Model effective teaching practices, share resources and support professional learning in enrichment, extension and differentiation.
• Collaborate with the Learning Enhancement Team, teachers, families and specialists to support student growth, engagement and achievement.
