Job summary

Aitken Rowe Testing Laboratories in Griffith NSW is seeking a Geotechnician to join our hands-on team. You will participate in field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and concrete with structured training provided.

No prior experience is required; training under supervision. This role offers hands-on work, a clear development path, and exposure to diverse projects in construction materials testing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete.
• Prepare samples and perform tests per Australian Standards and project specs.
• Operate and maintain field and lab equipment.
• Assist Geotechnical Investigation teams and liaise with clients.
• Support quality systems and report results accurately.

Aitken Rowe Testing Laboratories – Griffith NSW

Aitken Rowe Testing Laboratories Pty Ltd (ARTL) was established in April 1992. ARTL is a high-quality provider of Constructions Materials Testing and Geotechnical Engineering consultancy services throughout NSW and Northern Victoria.

ARTL is a fully independent and locally owned practice.

Permanent NATA-accredited base laboratories are located in Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Albury, with NATA accreditation to establish site annex laboratories as required.

The Role

We are currently seeking applicants for a Geotechnician role at our Griffith facility.

No previous knowledge or experience in the role is required. We provide structured, hands-on training and on-the-job support under the supervision of our Area Manager and Laboratory Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake field and laboratory testing and sampling of soils, aggregates and concrete in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, TfNSW test methods and project specifications.
• Undertake a variety of sample preparation and laboratory testing for material classifications and strength testing.
• Operate, check and maintain specialised laboratory and field-testing equipment.
• Undertake soil compaction testing in the laboratory and field.
• Assist Geotechnical Investigation teams.
• Liaise professionally with clients and contractors.
• Assist with laboratory quality systems and NATA compliance requirements.Accurately calculate, record and report test results.

  • A current driver's licence.
  • A Construction Industry White Card, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency
