Job summary

Hy-Tec is seeking a Field Tester to join its technical team on a permanent full-time basis. Working in the laboratory at Chipping Norton, this position will see you gain exposure to the compliance testing of soils and aggregates, concrete and other construction materials.

Your primary duties will include a broad range of soils and aggregate testing, assisting in trial mixing, sample preparation, equipment calibration and computer-based analysis.

Qualifications

  • Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply; all training will be provided.
  • Experience in construction materials testing – concrete, soils and aggregates are preferred but not essential.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and the environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to follow instructions from supervisor and from testing standards.
  • Ability to self-motivate and take initiative and work in high pace work culture.
  • Able to work alone and/or as a team member.
  • Australian driver’s license.
  • Construction Industry White Card being an advantage, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office being an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting of accurate results.
  • Adhere to procedures and work systems.
  • Perform equipment calibration and basic maintenance as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist the NSW technical and laboratory team with ISO/IEC 17025 NATA accreditation.
