Tetra Tech Coffey provides geotechnical monitoring services across WA’s leading mining and infrastructure projects. We seek a Geotechnical Instrumentation Technician to join our Perth Instrumentation & Monitoring team, responsible for installing, configuring, commissioning and maintaining geotechnical systems on site.

The role involves travel to projects (fly and drive), collaboration with engineers and site teams, and a strong safety focus to ensure operational safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring (mining, civil or infrastructure).
• Hands-on experience installing and maintaining instrumentation systems.
• Exposure to mining environments.
• Strong QA/QC processes and site compliance knowledge.
• Ability to communicate monitoring data effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety, risk identification and hazard management.
• Solid communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, commission, and maintain geotechnical instrumentation systems, including piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, load cells, strain gauges and vibration meters, and the data acquisition devices for those systems.
• Conduct field testing, inspections, routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Collect, validate, and report monitoring data to support engineering decisions.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and site personnel.
• Assist with supervision and coordination of field activities where required.
