Job summary

Bouygues Construction Australia is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support design, risk management and ground improvement projects. You will report to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and contribute to excavations, earth retaining structures, foundation systems, and ground investigations.

The role involves site investigations, data collection, and geotechnical testing with supervision. A bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or geology is required, with Chartered status

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or Geology.
• Progression of professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered status with Engineers Australia).
• Competency in geotechnical design software, soil/rock mechanics, or earthwork testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the T2D Project Values.
• Assist in site investigations, data collection, mapping and geotechnical testing.
• Conduct daily observations for geotechnical risks during construction and report them.
• Prepare basic calculations, drawings, and technical reports under supervision.
• Undertake instrument and monitoring assessments of ground movements with construction progress.
• Review temporary and permanent works design drawings and reports for specific structures.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, quality and safety procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Contribute to geotechnical model development and stability analyses.
