Job summary

Geoimage, a Brisbane-based satellite imagery and geospatial services company, is seeking two Geospatial Processing Specialists to own the end-to-end satellite image processing chain. You will preprocess, orthorectify, mosaic, and pan-sharpen imagery, and develop scripts to keep workflows efficient.

You will analyze satellite data under guidance, document procedures, and provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams. Strong communication and scripting skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience processing satellite imagery through a full pipeline: preprocessing, orthorectification, mosaicking, and pan-sharpening.
• Hands-on skills with PCI Catalyst and/or PCI GXL.
• Working experience with ERDAS ER Mapper, Global Mapper and FME.
• Practical experience with spatial data concepts and geospatial analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

• Process satellite data in accordance with established methods and client specs within timeframes.
• Preprocess, orthorectify, mosaic, and pan-sharpen imagery and package final products for delivery.
• Analyze satellite and ancillary data under senior team guidance.
• Maintain and develop processing scripts used by the Satellite Services team.

• Communicate with clients to ensure successful delivery of contracted products and services.
• Provide advice and technical knowledge to management, sales, and clients.
• Train staff in processing techniques.
• Support technical marketing campaigns with suitable sample data.
• Maintain CRM and project management records related to processing work.

Job description

We're looking for Two Geospatial Processing Specialists to take ownership of satellite image processing from raw data through to final delivery. You'll preprocess, orthorectify, mosaic, and pan-sharpen satellite imagery, working to designated methods and timeframes to meet client specifications. You'll also maintain and develop the processing scripts that keep our workflows efficient, and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Process satellite data in accordance with Geoimage's established methods, meeting or exceeding client specifications within specified timeframes
• Preprocess, orthorectify, mosaic, and pan-sharpen satellite imagery, and enhance and package final products for client delivery
• Undertake analysis of satellite and ancillary data on projects under the direction of senior team members
• Maintain and develop the processing scripts used by the Satellite Services team, in consultation with the Satellite Services Manager
• Document processing and analysis procedures on the company wiki, updating existing documentation and creating new documentation where relevant
• Communicate directly with clients as required to ensure successful delivery of contracted products and services
• Provide advice and technical knowledge to management, the sales team, and clients
• Train new and existing staff in processing techniques
• Support technical marketing campaigns by providing suitable sample data
• Maintain CRM and project management tool records related to processing work

About you

• Demonstrated professional experience processing satellite imagery through a full pipeline: preprocessing, orthorectification, mosaicking, and pan-sharpening
• Advanced, hands-on skills in PCI Catalyst and/or PCI GXL
• Working experience with ERDAS ER Mapper, Global Mapper and FME
• Practical experience with spatial data concepts and geospatial analysis workflows
• Experience maintaining or writing scripts to support image processing workflowsStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work methodically and to a high standard of attention to detail under limited supervision
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including direct client communication
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
