Job summary

ALS in Orange, NSW is seeking multiple Sample Preparers to support mining and exploration clients. You will prepare samples for testing, crushing, splitting and pulverizing mineral samples in a dusty warehouse environment with respirator use and a strict safety focus.

The role requires full-time availability on rotating rosters, strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork. Previous production experience is advantageous, and relocation to Orange NSW is expected for onsite work.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Reliable, physically fit and prepared to carry out repetitive manual handling tasks.
• Ability to follow set procedures.
• Be part of a high-performance team with focus on quality & safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate sample preparation equipment per procedures.
• Sort received samples per client submission form and note discrepancies.
• Apply barcode labels to sorted samples and capture weights in Gems interface.
• Transfer scanned samples to drying racks.
• Crush, riffle, split, and sieve samples prior to drying.
• Operate pulverizing mills to meet end-product specifications.
• Promptly inform supervisor of issues (e.g., wet samples, machinery breakdowns).
• Maintain machinery and keep work areas clean and tidy.
