ALS Geochemistry in Townsville is seeking a Senior Laboratory Assistant to operate AAS instrumentation and process geochemical samples. The role emphasizes calibration, QC, and timely delivery of results. You will support rotating day and afternoon shifts and collaborate within a busy lab environment.

Applicants should have a Diploma or BS in a laboratory field and at least 2 years of digestion/instrumentation lab experience; strong attention to detail and good communication are essential.

Qualificações

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, or a Bachelor of Science degree highly regarded.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a digestion and/or instrumentation laboratory.
• Experience with ICP-OES, AAS, and/or ICP-MS desirable.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Good numerical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Process samples in a digestion laboratory and analyze geochemical samples using AAS.
• Conduct instrument calibration and routine maintenance.
• Prepare, calibrate and test standards and QC solutions.
• Review QC data and analytical results.
• Ensure client turnaround times are met.
• Work autonomously after training and handle hazardous chemicals safely.
