Job summary

SGS Australia is seeking a Production Coordinator to join the team in Perth. Responsibilities include prioritizing and expediting samples in the Sample Preparation department to meet client turnaround times and KPIs, and providing technical direction on analytical problems.

You will oversee equipment use, supervise staff, and coordinate continuous improvement in sample throughput, quality, and safety while complying with ISO 17025 and NATA requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in geochemical laboratories.
• Experience with sample preparation of geological samples and related analyses.
• Experience across laboratory analysis areas and analytical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership to prioritize and expedite samples in the Sample Preparation department to meet client turnaround times and KPIs.
• Solve analytical problems with respect to sample preparation.
• Liaise with Client Services and Sample Preparation manager to ensure sample priorities are adhered to.
• Address non-conformances, corrective actions and improvement requests and oversee staff in close-out actions.
• Provide direction and technical expertise in analytical problems related to Sample Preparation.
• Ensure effective use of equipment and facilities; supervise HR within the department including training and recruitment.
• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput, quality and safety.
• Comply with ISO 17025 and NATA Quality Management System.
