Job summary

Generac is seeking a qualified Electrician to deliver planned generator installations, alternator repairs, and reactive maintenance on diesel and gas generators. You will work from our Smeaton Grange branch and onsite with customers, troubleshooting generators up to 3,500KVA and commissioning transfer switches and fuel systems.

Join a dedicated team, enjoy a company vehicle, iPad/phone, PPE, and training; travel occasionally is required. A White Card and Australian work rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen with full work rights in Australia.
• Electrical trades qualification with appropriate licensing.
• Experience with generator sets, control panels and PLC/relay logic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver generator installations and planned maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose generators up to 3,500KVA.
• Modify wiring looms and electrical diagrams.
• Commission transfer switches and fuel systems for new gensets.
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Service team and travel occasionally.

As a qualified Electrician you will be responsible for the delivery of planned generator installation works, alternator repairs, and reactive maintenance & repairs of diesel & gas generators.

About The Role

Working with a dedicated team of multi-disciplined technicians, you will be based out of our Smeaton Grange branch & also working independently on our customers sites. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working on generator sets and generator control panels
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics on generators up to 3,500KVA
• Modifying wiring looms/diagrams
• Commissioning of new generator systems, transfer switches & fuel systems
• Working closely with the Mechanical Service team
• Completing all work with a high focus on safety & reliability
• Occasional travel

About You

• Relevant electrical trades qualification

• Construction industry White Card

• Current driver's license
• Forklift license preferred
• Previous experience in the Power Generation field would be highly regarded
