Vinnies in Stanmore, NSW is seeking a full-time Warehouse General Hand at our distribution centre that supplies stock to the Vinnies retail network in metro Sydney. You will sort items donated by the public and support other warehouse operations with attention to detail and efficiency.

The role requires teamwork, the ability to follow safety procedures and physical capability to perform manual tasks in a warehouse setting. Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

• Clear and effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
• Physically capable of performing manual tasks.
• Knowledge of manual handling procedures and WHS laws.

Mansioni

• Assist with pre-sorting and sorting of stock including textiles, bric-a-brac, books or other items.
• Assist in preparing bales of textiles using appropriate machinery.
• Perform daily equipment safety checks on bale presses and report repairs.
• Assist with unloading donations/stock from inbound trucks.
• Prepare retail stock orders and maintain stock integrity.
• Record monetary donations found during sorting.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized.

About the Role

Join Vinnies as a full-time Warehouse General Hand at the distribution centre in Stanmore that supplies stock to Vinnies retail network in metro Sydney.Your will efficiently sort items generously donated by people supporting Vinnies' good works and assist in other areas of warehouse operations. You will have good attention to detail and efficiency in handling of stock to be successful in this role.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-sorting and sorting of stock including bric a brac, textiles, books or other items in the warehouse whilst guaranteeing a consistent level of quality
• Assist in preparing bales of textiles using appropriate machinery
• Perform daily equipment safety checks on the bale presses, following the safe work procedure to identify any repairs that may be needed.
• Assist with unloading donations / stock from incoming trucks as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of retail stock orders
• Ensure all monetary donations found whilst sorting are properly recorded.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organised by regular sweeping, removing debris, and arrange items in their designated locations

About You

• Experience within a warehouse facility.
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Clear and effective communication with warehouse staff, supervisors and other team members.
• Physically able toperform manual tasksrequired of this positionwithin a warehouse environment.
• Thorough knowledge of Manual Handling procedures.
• Flexibility in responding to changing priorities and tasks
• Thorough knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation and procedures, including manual handling.
