Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking a General Practitioner to join the Paediatric Outpatient Clinics at the Early Parenting Centre, McKellar, Geelong. The role involves consulting in a multidisciplinary general paediatric clinic for 0-18 years, with clinics on Tuesday mornings from February 2027.

You will work alongside paediatricians, registrars and allied health, contributing to high-quality outpatient care and a strong patient-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and eligible for registration with AHPRA.
• Fellowship FRACGP or equivalent.
• Genuine interest in paediatric outpatient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality outpatient care in a general paediatric clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide safe, patient- and family-centred care with informed decision-making and chronic disease management.
• Contribute to clinical quality and safety through adherence to standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support a positive team culture through collaboration and communications.

General Practitioner, Paediatric Outpatient Clinics

• Sessional (5 hour) multi-disciplinary general paediatric clinic
• Working at the new Early Parenting Centre at our McKellar Centre
• Clinics Tuesday morning (start February 2027)

About the Role

We are seeking to employ a General Practitioner to work as a consultant alongside Paediatricians, registrars and allied health in our multidisciplinary general paediatric clinics (0-18 years, BRANCHS), based at the Early Parenting Centre, McKellar.

This position reflects a new commitment to investing in the provision of general paediatric outpatient services across the Barwon region and will complement existing outpatient clinics based at University Hospital Geelong and community child health clinics located at Barwon North.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality outpatient care in a general paediatric clinic, working within a multidisciplinary team under appropriate supervision
• Provide safe, evidence-based, patient- and family-centred care, supporting informed decision-making and chronic disease management
• Contribute to clinical quality and safety through adherence to standards, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support a positive team culture through collaboration, communication, and participation in meetings and shared clinical responsibilities

What we’re looking for

• Medical degree, eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship
• FRACGP or equivalent
• Possess a genuine interest in paediatric outpatient care
