Serco is seeking a Medical Officer to deliver primary medical care to Defence personnel at Lavarack Health Centre in Townsville. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, upholding professional standards, and contributing to defence-ready healthcare on base.
The role involves assessing fitness for duty, advising on clinical care for pre- and post-deployment needs, and providing services in outpatient or inpatient environments as required.

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on‑base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on‑site medical care.
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).
