Job summary

Huon Aquaculture, a Tasmanian leader in salmon production and part of JBS, is seeking an accomplished General Manager Finance to join the Executive Leadership Team in Hobart. You will lead finance, commercial, contracts and procurement, shaping strategy and driving performance across the business.

You will bring senior finance experience, a commercial mindset, and deep understanding of biological assets, governance and risk, with a passion for innovation and data-driven decision making.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an accomplished and commercially minded General Manager Finance to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape Huon's future.

Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead our finance, commercial, contracts and procurement functions, partnering with leaders and stakeholders across the business to influence strategy, challenge thinking and drive performance.

You'll combine true commercial acumen with a genuine understanding of the operational drivers, turning insights into decisions that deliver results.

You'll bring:

• Executive leadership – Extensive senior finance experience, with the confidence to influence at Executive level.
• Commercial mindset – A proven ability to improve profitability, manage costs and drive business performance.
• Biological asset experience – An understanding of biological asset accounting, valuation and production cycles. This could be from aquaculture, agriculture, livestock or other biological production industries.
• Financial expertise – Strong capability in financial strategy, capital management, governance and risk.
• Business improvement - A passion for technology, innovation and data-driven decision-making.
• People leadership - The ability to build strong relationships, develop teams and work collaboratively across a complex business.
• Qualifications - A degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce, together with a CPA or CA qualification..
