Job summary

CommBank seeks an experienced Chapter Lead (Executive Manager) for Data Science and Gen AI, Model Risk Validation. You will lead a high-performing team across Australia and India, delivering robust validation and tooling to ensure safe, scalable AI models. The role emphasizes governance, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll work with senior leaders, product owners and regulators, driving innovation while maintaining accountability and model risk controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced Python and modern ML tooling.
• Experience in validating GenAI and traditional models.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience in agile environments and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary data science chapter across Australia and India.
• Plan and run chapter validation work, prioritising engagements and delivering quality on time.
• Develop validation tooling and methods to challenge design and evidence.
• Engage executives, model owners, central AI teams and internal audit.
• Coach, hire and drive career development within the chapter.
