Job summary

Intelligen is seeking an experienced GCP Platform Engineer to help deliver secure, governed and scalable Google Cloud environments for clients across Australia and the APAC region. You’ll design IAM, groups, RBAC and access controls, administer BigQuery permissions, and implement policy tags and data masking to protect sensitive information.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in cloud engineering or closely related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience administering GCP accounts, environments, permissions and roles.
• Knowledge of Google IAM, Google Groups and RBAC.
• Practical experience configuring permissions in BigQuery.
• Experience implementing policy tags, masking and sensitive-data controls within Google Cloud.
• Understanding of least-privilege principles and managing service accounts, credentials and access permissions.
• Strong troubleshooting capability to diagnose configuration and permission issues.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GCP access-control and governance frameworks (IAM, Groups, roles).
• Establish and administer RBAC across Google Cloud and BigQuery.
• Configure BigQuery dataset permissions, authorised views and row/column-level access controls.
• Implement policy tags and data masking for sensitive information.
• Develop scalable group/IAM structures to support least-privilege access.
• Review and remediate service accounts and credentials with minimum permissions.
• Provide IaC approaches for cloud configuration and access controls (Terraform).
• Support Terraform/dbt-based deployment and access-control patterns.
