Job summary

XPT Software Australia is seeking a Senior hands-on GCP Cloud Platform / SRE Engineer to support production systems in Sydney. You will work on cloud platforms including Networks AI Platform, Event Streaming Mesh, and the Networks GCP Landing Zone.

The role requires hands-on work with GCP, IaC, CI/CD, Kubernetes, security controls and observability. The ideal candidate has previously brought cloud platforms into production and operated them, rather than focusing on architecture alone.

Qualifications

• Recent hands-on Google Cloud engineering experience.
• IAM, service accounts, workload identity / federation.
• VPC, routing, firewalling, private connectivity and cloud networking.
• GCP logging, monitoring and alerting.
• Cloud Run and container-based workloads.
• GKE/Kubernetes experience.
• Production troubleshooting within GCP.

Responsibilities

• Support the build, productionisation and ongoing operation of strategic Networks cloud platforms in GCP.
• Hands-on engineering across IaC, CI/CD, containers, security controls, networking and observability.
• Bring platforms from engineering into production and operate them, not just design.

Senior hands-on GCP Cloud Platform / SRE Engineer

Role

• Support the build, productionisation and ongoing operation of a number of strategic Networks cloud platforms, including Networks AI Platform, Event Streaming Mesh and the Networks GCP Landing Zone.
• This is not an architecture role. Need someone who is comfortable getting hands-on with GCP, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, Kubernetes/containers, security controls, networking, observability and production troubleshooting.
• The ideal candidate has previously taken cloud platforms from engineering into production and then operated them, rather than primarily designing solutions or producing architecture artefacts.

Must-have technical skills

• Strong, recent hands-on Google Cloud engineering experience
• IAM, service accounts, workload identity / federation
• VPC, routing, firewalling, private connectivity and cloud networking
• GCP logging, monitoring and alerting
• Cloud Run and container-based workloads
