Job summary

Cotton On Group is seeking a detail-driven Garment Technician in Geelong, VIC. You’ll lead fit sessions, own technical specs, and partner with Design, Buying and suppliers to deliver precise, fit-for-purpose products that meet brand standards.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric performance and offshore supplier coordination to ensure quality outcomes across development stages.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Garment Technician role or similar technical position.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit principles and garment measurement.
• Deep understanding of fabrics, fibres and material performance.
• Experience working with offshore suppliers to deliver quality outcomes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy across development stages.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder collaboration across Design, Buying, Production and Quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Adobe/CAD highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Lead fit sessions, providing expert direction on fit, construction and garment balance.
• Own fit comments, specifications and technical documentation across development.
• Build and maintain block libraries, ensuring consistency of fit across categories.
• Partner with Design to support product development and advise on fit and construction.
• Work closely with suppliers to communicate technical requirements and ensure accurate execution.
• Support fabric and trim decisions to ensure product is fit for purpose.
• Drive continuous improvement in fit, quality and product performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Buying, Production and Quality teams.
