Job summary

Hunter Valley Resort is seeking a practical gardener to maintain lawns, gardens, and grounds for a busy, 100-acre family-owned property in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country. You’ll ensure guest-ready spaces year-round with attention to detail and safe outdoor work practices.

You’ll handle mowing, irrigation checks, edging, weed control, mulching, and seasonal presentation. A driver’s licence and comfortable outdoor work are required, with odds of training for irrigation controllers and

Qualifications

• Previous gardening/landscaping/groundskeeping experience.
• Pride in presentation and attention to detail.
• Comfort working outdoors in all seasons and physically fit.

Responsibilities

• Lawn care: mowing, edging, whipper-snipping, weed control.
• Irrigation maintenance: check timers, replace heads/risers, basic leak fixes.
• Paths and presentation: rake, sweep, keep outdoor spaces neat.
• Support seasonal projects like planting schedules and mulching.
• Keep pool surrounds and outdoor areas clean and inviting.

Location: Pokolbin, NSW

The Role

We’re looking for a practical, reliable gardener who can keep our lawns lush, gardens thriving, and grounds guest-ready year-round. You’ll care for around the resort ensuring every corner looks its best.

Your Week Could Include:

Lawn care: mowing, edging, whipper-snipping, weed control.

Irrigation: checking timers, replacing heads/risers, basic leak repairs, and seasonal adjustments.

Pathways & presentation: raking, blowing leaves, sweeping, and keeping outdoor spaces neat.

Support with seasonal projects – planting schedules, mulching programs, and event beautification.

Pool surrounds and outdoor areas kept clean and inviting.

You Bring:

Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or groundskeeping essential.

Pride in presentation and attention to detail.

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.

Good WHS awareness and safe equipment use.

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Advantageous: irrigation system knowledge, horticulture training, ChemCert, or chainsaw ticket.
