Job summary

Smithfield Village Early Learning Centre – Trinity Park QLD is seeking a full-time Gardener/Maintenance professional to care for outdoor spaces across three centres: Smithfield Village ELC, Bluewater Village ELC and Cairns Early Learning Centre. You will perform garden maintenance, water plants, maintain equipment, and support sustainable outdoor learning environments for children, families, and staff.

An immediate start is available for a reliable candidate with a current driver's licence and

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Gardener, Groundskeeper or Landscaper.
• Knowledge of plant care and landscaping practices.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Full-Time Gardener/ Maintenance – Early Learning Centre's

Location: Smithfield Village ELC, Bluewater Village ELC & Cairns Early Learning

Employment Type: Full-Time.

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and dedicated Gardener/ Maintenance to join our team across our three Early Learning Centre's. This rewarding role plays a vital part in maintaining the beautiful outdoor environments that support children's learning, exploration, and wellbeing. 37.5 hours per week.

As our Gardener/Maintenance, you will help create and maintain safe, inviting, and engaging outdoor spaces for children, families, and staff across our sister centre's:

Smithfield Village Early Learning Centre

Bluewater Village Early Learning Centre

Cairns Early Learning Centre

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform regular garden maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, mulching, and planting
• Ensure all grounds are maintained to a high standard and kept clean, tidy, and free from debris
• Water, fertilise, and care for plants, trees, and garden beds
• Monitor landscaping and identify any maintenance issues requiring attention
• Maintain gardening equipment and tools in good working order
• Support the centres' commitment to sustainability and natural learning environments
• Collaborate with educators to enhance outdoor learning and play spaces for children.
• Ability to complete hanyman/maintenance jobs as required for the Centre's.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Gardener, Groundskeeper, or Landscaper
• Knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and landscaping practices
• Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• A genuine passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces
• A current driver's licence.
• Previous Experience around maintenance/handyman tasks.
