Maine Environmental Services in Harcourt, VIC is seeking a keen and enthusiastic Apprentice Gardener to join our growing team. This is a full-time apprenticeship position offering hands-on training across gardening and landscaping.

You will work with experienced staff to develop horticultural skills, learn industry best practices, and contribute to creating beautiful outdoor spaces for clients. No formal qualifications required; full training provided.

Qualifications

• Interest in gardening and landscaping.
• Ability to perform outdoor manual labour in varying weather.
• Willingness to learn from mentors and adapt to new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planting, cultivation and maintenance of landscape areas.
• Preparing garden beds and soil, including digging, weeding and composting.
• Watering and feeding plants according to seasonal needs.
• Operating and maintaining hand tools and small power equipment under supervision.
• Assisting with lawn care, including mowing, edging and aeration.
• Helping design and implement garden layouts under guidance.
• Learning about plant species and horticulture techniques.
• Supporting site preparation, clearance and general grounds maintenance.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment and adhering to safety regulations.
• Communicating effectively with clients and team members.
