Super Gardens is seeking an Apprentice - Horticulturist to begin a structured four-year apprenticeship. The program emphasizes paid, hands-on training under experienced mentors, delivering practical skills and a nationally recognised trade qualification.

Qualifications

• No prior horticulture experience required; must be a hard worker and eager to learn.
• You are mature and able to deal with people from all walks of life.
• White Card and Working with Children Check (WWCC) required or prepared to obtain.
• Australian citizen to satisfy schooling component of apprenticeship.
• Driver's license preferred if available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply chemicals for pest, weed and disease control with proper transport and storage.
• Install and maintain drainage and pressurised irrigation systems; operate equipment.
• Operate machinery and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Improve soil quality for gardens and turf to promote healthy growth.
• Control weeds, pests and diseases affecting plants and turf areas.
• Renovate and construct sports turf facilities.
• Follow safety protocols and equipment operation.

About You

You may not have any prior experience in Horticulture or Garden Maintenance, but you are a proven hard worker and are motivated and keen to learn new skills. Your can-do attitude will underpin your success in this role.

You are mature and are able to deal with people from all walks of life.

You already have, or are prepared to obtain, a White Card and Working with Children Check. Although not an absolute requirement, if you have a current drivers' licencethis will be looked upon favourably.

You must be an Australian citizen to satisfy the government requirements in relation to the schooling component of the apprenticeship.
