Job summary

People Who Care is a not for profit organisation serving older people, those with a disability and those facing social crises. The Home and Garden Maintenance Worker role is based at Guildford in a permanent part-time capacity, offering a 30.4-hour week from Tuesday to Friday, with a pay rate of $34.42 per hour.

Qualifications

• Clear, respectful communication with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

• Capable of working without supervision and as part of a team.
• Valid Working rights in Australia.
• Current National Police Check (not older than 6 months).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Undertake garden clean-ups and maintenance at multiple locations.
• Perform lawn mowing, pruning, whipper-snipping, sweeping and raking.
• Carry out general minor indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks as required.

Job description

People Who Care is a not for profit organisation with over 46 years of service. We partner to provide support to older people, those with a disability or people who are facing a social crisis.

What's on offer:

• Role based out of our Guildford location
• Permanent Part-time - $34.42 per hour - 30.4 hours per week - 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday) - 7.30am to 3.36pm

As a Home and Garden Maintenance Worker you will undertake garden clean-ups/maintenance at multiple locations, generally for one hour per site, in a home care setting. This includes tasks such as (but not limited to), lawn moving, pruning, whipper-snipping, sweeping and raking. This role will also involve providing general minor household indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks.

• Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with people from various backgrounds and with different abilities.
• Ability to work in the outdoors and undertake manual activities.
• Proficiency and experience in a broad range of gardening tasks
• Ability to work without supervision and as part of a team
• Suitable Working rights
• Current National Police Check (not older than 6 months)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
