Job summary

Lancemore Cleveland Estate in Lancefield is seeking a hands-on Gardener to maintain and present the gardens, wedding sites and outdoor spaces of the historic hotel.

You will work with modern lawn care and pruning techniques, manage planting and turfing, and contribute to long-term grounds development while delivering high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing large garden properties.
• Grounds maintenance experience excluding vines and viticulture.
• Ability to operate and maintain garden equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain presentation of gardens, wedding sites, and outdoor spaces.
• Perform lawn mowing, edging, pruning, clipping, fertilizing, planting, turfing.
• Provide long-term development recommendations for the grounds.

Cleveland Estate, situated in the historic country township of Lancefield has a brilliant opportunity available for a talented professional, Gardener to join us at our stunning, iconic property.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Deliver exceptional presentation of the gardens, wedding sites and outdoor spaces across the Hotel
• Grounds maintenance exclusive of vines and viticulture
• Hands on role with a solid understanding of managing a large garden property.
• Knowledge of modern techniques in lawn mowing and edging, pruning trees and shrubs, clipping of topiary, fertilizing, planting, turfing, pest and disease control
• Make recommendations on the Hotel grounds and assist with the long-term planning and development of the complex.

ABOUT YOU:

• Success in a similar role and exposure to a large scale garden operation
• An acute eye for detail and development of solutions to ensure the high standard is maintained.
• A good working knowledge of various types of associated equipment
• Ability to work under pressure in a varied, fast paced environment, by taking initiative and working collaboratively
• Positive mindset and a can-do attitude
