Job summary

Lancemore Milawa in Victoria's Great North East is seeking hands-on Handyperson/Gardeners. You’ll maintain the gardens and grounds, and perform hotel maintenance across rooms and public areas, ensuring high presentation standards and guest satisfaction.

Coordinate contractors, respond to maintenance issues, and contribute to long-term property planning. A positive, practical mindset and experience in hotel environments are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with fixing day to day things – lights, taps, painting etc.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice highly regarded.
• Knowledge of a trade is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate contractors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional presentation of the gardens & grounds across the property.
• Knowledge of modern techniques in lawn mowing and edging, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilising, planting, turfing, pest and disease control.
• Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency calls.
• Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in proper condition.
• Make recommendations for the property and assist with long-term planning and development.

About The Role:

• Ability to understand what the customer sees – and ensure our property is always kept to the highest standard
• Ability to work with teams, and communicate clearly and in time
• Knowledge of a trade beneficial
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
• Supervisory experience of maintenance activities in a fast-moving lean environment
• Hands on role with a solid understanding, ideally experience in hotels
