Job summary

Dan's Garden Care in Cairns is seeking an outdoor gardener to join our team. We offer a generous hourly rate based on experience, with opportunities to become a lead hand on jobs and support from an experienced lead contractor.

You will work with a friendly team and have autonomy in completing tasks. Ideal applicants will hold an Australian driver’s licence, be physically fit, reliable, punctual and able to communicate with clients.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, punctual and take pride in detail.
• Able to communicate with clients and colleagues on site.
• Hold a current Australian driver’s licence with trailer experience.
• Experience operating garden equipment (whippersnippers, mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers).
• Demonstrate safe work practices and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out outdoor garden maintenance tasks and lead hands on jobs.
• Coordinate with clients, document work and ensure client satisfaction.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE are followed on site.
• Operate and maintain garden equipment and assist with job planning.

What we expect:

• Has a mind for efficiency and has an eye for detail,
• Must be able to communicate with Clients and have an understanding of Safe work Practises
• Must be RELIABLE, Politeand be physically fit
• Must have an Australian Drivers Licence and experience driving and reversing with a trailer
• Previous experience with use of garden equipment: Whippersnippers, Zero-Turn mowers, blowers and Hedge Trimmers or desire and ability to learn quickly
• MUST BE PUNCTUAL & well presented with Good time management Skills
• Good communication skills and be able to use smartphones / apps for uploading photos
• Has a hunger to learn and help the company grow.
• Must have a good work ethic and be respectful of other team members, leadership, and clients.

We are particularly after anyone who is currently studying, or has completed a recognised course in Horticulture, Landscaping or Parks & Gardens. Previous hospitality workers with some experience welcome to apply
