Job summary

Baker McKenzie invites applications for an Associate in the Funds team within the Transactional Practice Group in Sydney. The role focuses on fund formation, capital raisings and M&A work for major funds clients.

You will work closely with partners in Sydney and globally, delivering commercially astute advice and mentoring junior lawyers. The successful candidate will have 3–4 years' PQE in Funds, strong drafting and client service skills, and a track record in top-tier or leading international

Qualifications

• 3-4 years' experience in Funds
• Relevant experience in a top-tier or leading international firm preferred
• Strong client service orientation
• Strong technical and drafting skills
• Business development aptitude, interest and experience
• Relevant legal qualifications with a strong academic background
• Excellent analytical, communication and research skills
• Commitment to high work standards with strong attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and proactivity
• Ability to work well in a team environment (including across Australian offices and internationally)
• Willingness to learn and to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences

Responsibilities

• Advise on fund formation, capital raisings and investments, including M&A aspects
• Assist sponsors and managers with regulatory aspects of fund formation and operation
• Collaborate with partners in Sydney and across Baker McKenzie offices to service funds clients
