Job summary

RNA in Brisbane Showgrounds and the Royal International Convention Centre is seeking a Functions & Events Supervisor to oversee Food & Beverage operations on the floor, lead and develop a casual team, and deliver seamless, high-quality events across our venues.

This full-time, fixed-term 12‑month contract requires coordinating service, managing costs, liaising with clients and internal teams, and maintaining high presentation standards to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in events or hospitality.
• Ability to lead casual teams and deliver 5-star service.
• Proven track record in fast-paced environments.

• Experience managing labour, stock and costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Food & Beverage operations across a variety of events, ensuring consistent delivery of 5-star service
• Supervise and support casual staff on shift, including briefings, performance management and maintaining high presentation standards
• Liaise with clients, Event Planning and internal teams to deliver seamless, tailored event experiences, including VIP functions
• Oversee event setup and pack down, ensuring all spaces, equipment and service standards meet requirements
• Monitor service delivery on the floor, ensuring efficiency, quality and a strong guest experience at all times
• Manage labour, beverage costs and stock levels in line with budgets, including ordering, stocktakes and returns
• Complete event reporting, track labour costs and provide feedback to support continuous improvement
• Assist with training and development of staff, promoting a high-performing and service-focused team culture
• Oversee cash handling processes and ensure discrepancies are reported and resolved
• Work closely with Facilities and Technical teams to maintain operational readiness and report maintenance issues

In this fast-paced, hands-on role, our newest Functions & Events Supervisor will oversee Food & Beverage operations on the floor, lead and develop a casual team while delivering seamless, high-quality events across the Brisbane Showgrounds and Royal International Convention Centre (RICC). From coordinating service and managing costs to working closely with clients and internal teams, you will play a key role in creating exceptional event experiences.

This position is a Full-Time, Fixed-Term 12 month contract

About Us

The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) owns and operates the historic Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, home to the iconic Royal Queensland Show and more than 300 events a year.

Located 1.5kms from the CBD, the precinctattracts a million visitors annually and is Queensland's largest indoor/outdoor events space, featuring the vibrant King Street dining precinct and the five-star Royal International Convention Centre.

To Be Successful You Will Require

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within events or hospitality
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage and motivate casual teams
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality service in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
