Qualifications

• At least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a higher qualification in a relevant field;
• A minimum of three years of relevant practical experience working as a Cook in the hospitality industry;
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy kitchen environment; and
• A reliable, passionate and self-motivated approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients and food items prior to the opening of the restaurant;
• Checking the quantity, quality and freshness of ingredients and food supplies;
• Preparing and cooking food using appropriate cooking equipment in accordance with customer orders and any special dietary requirements;
• Portioning, plating and presenting dishes to the required standard;
• Properly storing ingredients and food products after use and minimising food wastage;
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and cooking areas;
• Assisting with the training of other kitchen staff when required;
• Complying with company policies, food safety requirements and workplace procedures.
