Job summary

United Chemists West Mackay is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to lead daily operations and support a collaborative team in providing exceptional patient care in the local community.

The successful candidate will oversee dispensing, provide clinical advice, and contribute to vaccination and other services while maintaining high professional standards. Relocation assistance is available where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent is required.
• Current General Registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to work on weekends on a rotating roster is required.
• Prepared to work as Pharmacist in Charge with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations in Mackay.
• Ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medications.
• Provide professional healthcare advice to patients.
• Deliver services including vaccinations where applicable.
• Manage dispensary workflow and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy legislation and company policies.
• Build relationships with customers and local healthcare providers.

As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring professional standards are maintained while supporting your team to provide outstanding customer care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Pharmacist Manager and team in the daily operation of the pharmacy
• Ensuring the accurate and safe dispensing of medications
• Providing professional healthcare advice and counselling patients on the quality use of medicines
• Delivering professional pharmacy services, including vaccinations and other clinical services where applicable
• Managing dispensary workflow to ensure efficient and compliant operations
• Maintaining compliance with all pharmacy legislation, professional standards, and company policies
• Building strong relationships with customers and local healthcare providers
• Supporting the achievement of pharmacy service, professional care, and business objectives
