Job summary

George & Matilda Eyecare in Canberra is seeking a Full-Time Optical Dispenser to join our two established practices. You will help patients choose frames and lenses, build strong product knowledge, and deliver exceptional service across Andrew Watkins Optometrist and Evans & McMahon Optometrists.

• Experience in retail or optical dispensing is preferred.

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit lifestyle, vision needs and style.
• Develop product knowledge and confidently recommend optical solutions.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient experiences.
• Support dispensing, adjustments, repairs and general optical services.
• Assist with practice administration and day-to-day operations.
• Travel between Andrew Watkins Optometrist and Evans & McMahon Optometrists as required.

About The Role

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, vision needs, and personal style
• Develop strong product knowledge and confidently recommend optical solutions
• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient experiences
• Support dispensing, adjustments, repairs, and general optical services
• Assist with practice administration and day-to-day operationsWork collaboratively with Optometrists and team members to ensure seamless patient care
• Travel between the Andrew Watkins and Evans & McMahon practices as required

What We're Looking For

• A genuine passion for patient care and customer service
• Previous retail or optical dispensing experience (highly regarded)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence learning and sharing product knowledge
• A positive, friendly, and professional attitude
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a collaborative team mindset
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, public holidays, and late trade when required
• A willingness and ability to travel between Andrew Watkins and Evans & McMahon locations
• A current driver's licence and reliable transport is highly desirable but not required
