Bolton Point Child Care Centre is seeking a full-time trainee for a 38-hour week role starting January 2027. The position includes study time and mentoring by experienced educators, with a strong focus on safety and community involvement.

The role provides onboarding to uphold child safety standards, a supportive team, and opportunities to build relationships with children and families in a small, community-based centre in Lake Macquarie.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be professional, enthusiastic, motivated and reliable.
• Willingness to participate in required pre-employment screening, qualification verification and referee checks.
• Able to work flexible hours.
• Must be 18 years of age and over.
• Able to commit to an 18-month study placement.
• Current Working with Children’s Check.
• Genuine desire to enter the Early Childhood Industry and a commitment to complete the training.
• Be able to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and interact positively with children aged between 0-5 years of age.
• Be able to work effectively within a team environment.
• Be able to follow centre policy and procedures.
• Follow the centre routine and assist with routine takes during the day.
• Be motivated and enthusiastic, demonstrating initiative throughout the day.
• Work with the team to positively guide children's behaviours.
