Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant.
• Sound understanding of food preparation methods, cooking techniques and presentation.
• Strong practical cooking skills and knowledge of food safety requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organised under pressure.
• Effective time management and clear communication.
• Focus on consistency, quality and attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for preparing fresh, flavorful dishes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of menu items in line with established recipes and standards.
• Ensure meals meet expectations for taste, quality, freshness and presentation.
• Follow all relevant food safety, hygiene and workplace health regulations.
• Keep kitchen workspaces, equipment and utensils clean, safe and well organised.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house employees.
• Support menu development and contribute ideas for new dishes when required.
• Manage kitchen tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
