Al-Hidayah Islamic School was established in 1994 and is situated in the suburb of Bentley, Western Australia. We are a private, independent, co-educational school offering an excellent educational program for our primary-aged students in both Islamic Studies and the WA Curriculum. The School adopts a play-based and inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning using the 'Walker Learning' approach.

We are a growing Islamic school committed to providing a high-quality, holistic education that nurtures students spiritually, academically, socially and emotionally, grounded in Islamic values and principles.

As we continue to strengthen our Islamic educational philosophy and pedagogy, we are seeking an educator who understands the unique needs of young learners, values developmentally appropriate practices and is passionate about nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

We are particularly seeking an educator who strongly advocates purposeful play-based learning, recognising the important role of play, exploration, inquiry, and intentional teaching in children's holistic development.

There will be opportunities for professional development and mentorship.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong foundation in primary education, with the knowledge and flexibility to support children's progression through the early years of schooling.

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate pedagogical practices.

  • Understands how to effectively integrate play-based learning, intentional teaching and explicit instruction to support children's learning and development.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of early literacy and numeracy development and evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Has a sound understanding of primary education and the progression of learning across the early primary years.
  • Creates a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment that supports children's wellbeing, independence and confidence.
