Job summary

Vimal Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models and construction drawings for civil and structural projects. You will work with engineers and project teams to ensure coordination, resolve clashes, and deliver documentation aligned with project requirements and standards.

The role requires experience in BIM modelling, collaboration across disciplines, and a focus on producing accurate drawings to project specifications.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in structural drafting, civil construction design or equivalent (preferred).
• 2 to 5 years of experience in structural drafting.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Experience in commercial, high rises or industrial projects.
• Experience documenting all parts of a project.
• Eye for detail and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate information from Engineers, clients, and other experts into polished detailed drawings.
• Self-check completed work, may back-draft own work or assist Senior draftspersons.
• Produce models to the required LOD for each project. LOD 300 minimum standard if not specified.
• Assure the quality of drawings as the Lead Draftsperson on a project.
• Collaborate closely with Job Managers when in the Lead Draftsperson role.
• Listen and collaborate with other drafters on projects where you are support.
• Participate in coordination meetings as directed by the Job Manager.
• Issue drawings including uploading onto web-based document control systems.

SUMMARY

As a Civil Engineering Draftsperson you will be responsible for developing and managing detailed 3D BIM models and technical drawings for civil and structural engineering projects. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure coordination, resolve clashes, and deliver accurate construction documentation aligned with project requirements and industry standards.

Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000 per Annum + Superannuation.

Skill & Experience

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, articulate and bring a willingness to take ownership of this key functional role within the Vimal Consulting team. You will also have:

• Qualifications in structural drafting, civil construction design or equivalent (preferred).
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in structural drafting, and must be ready to take on a more autonomous role as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson.
• Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit.
• Experience in commercial, high rises or industrial projects.
• Experience documenting all parts of a project.
• An eye for detail and working to company standards.
• The ability to be a team player and happy to support the team in delivering projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in the ongoing maintenance and development of standards.
• Understanding of reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete and structural steel.
