Phillip Island Winery in Ventnor, Victoria is seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. This hands-on, full-time role works with our Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes featuring Victorian produce in a busy, seasonal kitchen.
You’ll contribute to menu development, prepare and cook, manage stock, support ordering, rostering and training of junior staff, while maintaining food safety and presentation standards.

Located in Ventnor, Phillip Island Winery brings together quality wine, seasonal food and relaxed hospitality in a beautiful rural setting. Our restaurant welcomes locals and visitors for everything from casual lunches to events and special celebrations.
This is a hands-on, full-time position for a qualified Chef who can work confidently in a busy commercial kitchen while maintaining consistency, quality and attention to detail.
Working closely with our Head Chef, you’ll contribute across food preparation, service, menu development and day-to-day kitchen operations, with a focus on Victorian produce and seasonal flavours.
Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with our menus, presentation requirements and quality standards.
Help develop and refine menu items showcasing Victorian produce and seasonal flavours.
Support the Head Chef with ordering, rostering, staff management, stock control and kitchen cleanliness.
Help coordinate kitchen operations during service, maintaining an efficient workflow and timely delivery of dishes.
Work closely with the front-of-house team to maintain food quality and presentation through to the guest.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety.
Assist with the training and development of junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
Support the maintenance of cleaning rosters, Food Safety Plans and other kitchen compliance requirements.
Undertake other reasonable kitchen and operational duties as required.
A relevant culinary qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
Between one and three years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Sound knowledge of food safety standards, workplace health and safety and kitchen compliance requirements.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The ability to remain organised and maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods.
A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute as part of the wider hospitality team.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per annum, plus superannuation
