Job summary

Marigold is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join autonomous product teams. You will mentor peers, shape architecture, and own end-to-end problems from scoping to maintainability. The role involves event-driven microservices, ReactJS/Node.js frontends, and data-heavy platforms.

The position offers remote work with in-person interviews, and opportunities to work on AWS infrastructure, Kafka/Spark data pipelines, and ongoing tech migrations from Backbone to React.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a software developer.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 3+ years of additional relevant industry experience).
• Fluency in at least two programming languages, preferably including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to write, review, and refactor code faster.
• Familiarity with storage engines (SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, RDS) and know when each is the right fit.
• Data-driven decision making and familiarity with instrumentation techniques.
• Effective communication skills, via interactive mediums and documentation.
• Teamwork and collaboration are fundamental to Campaign Monitor.

Responsibilities

• Shape architecture decisions and raise the bar on code quality through reviews.
• Mentor team members and own problems end-to-end from scoping to maintainability.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and ensure reliable, scalable systems.
• Collaborate with UX designers, Product Managers, and engineers across multiple projects.

The Role

Senior Full Stack Engineers are an integral part of our autonomous, multi-disciplinary product teams, working closely with UX designers, Product Managers, and other software engineers to deliver quality, rock-solid customer experiences and scale our systems for ever-increasing growth. We work in small teams with clear objectives, which allows for accountability and transparency, and an expectation to support and maintain the software we create, including participation in an on-call rotation.

This role is on the Campaign Monitor product, where the technology stack is mainly C#, JavaScript, SQL, and Java. Some of our frontend is still on Backbone.js as we continue migrating toward React, so you'll be working across both as part of that transition. We're looking to fill roles across a variety of projects, including:

• Event-driven microservices and APIs in a distributed architecture
• Dynamic web applications (ReactJS, Node.js, Backbone.js)
• Infrastructure development on AWS (EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, Elasticache, Elasticsearch)
• Event streaming & big data solutions (Kafka, Spark)
• Extending and growing our existing feature set

As a senior member of the team, you'll be expected to help shape architecture decisions, raise the bar on code quality through review and mentorship, and take ownership of problems end to end — not just implementation, but scoping, tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability.

About You

Essential

• 10+ years of experience as a software developer.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field (in lieu of a degree, 3+ years of additional relevant industry experience).
• Fluency in at least two programming languages, preferably including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to write, review, and refactor code faster — with the judgment to know when to lean on them and when not to, and without outsourcing critical thinking about design, correctness, or security.
• Familiarity with a range of storage engines (SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, RDS offerings) and know when each is the right fit.
• Data-driven decision making and familiarity with instrumentation techniques.
• Effective communication skills, via interactive mediums and documentation.
• You value teamwork and have solid collaboration skills, which are fundamental to how we work at Campaign Monitor.

Desirable

• Experience in event streaming architecture and stream processing (Kafka, Spark).
• Solid IaC experience with Terraform; comfortable picking up other provisioning/config tools as needed.
