Job summary

Mode Talent Pty Ltd's Aussie Scale Up – Data company in Melbourne CBD is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join an engineering team based in Melbourne. The role offers hybrid work in Melbourne CBD and exposure to US-based government and enterprise customers.

You will work across the platform from telemetry collection to building experiences in web apps and data pipelines, with API-first development and a eye on scale, security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, React, and Go or similar languages.
• Expert in API development with a good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with infrastructure as code: Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation / SAM / CDK, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps best practices, Kubernetes, Container Orchestration, and Serverless infrastructures.
• Proficiency in SQL and DBMS such as PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redshift, Clickhouse, and similar.
• Experience with CI/CD workflow tools (i.e. GitHub Actions, Buildkite Pipelines or AWS Workflows).
• A good understanding of Cloud Security best practices is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features with an API-first approach and future scale considerations.
• Collaborate across data pipelines, web apps, and backend APIs.
• Develop APIs with a focus on security, reliability, and scale.
• Work with DevOps and cloud infrastructure to deliver CI/CD and deployments.
