Job summary

TPH Global, a leading Accounting SaaS and Payroll service provider for the film and TV industries, seeks a driven Full Stack Developer to join our Melbourne team. Design, develop and maintain scalable web apps across legacy and new platforms, using React.js, Node.js, NextJS, and AWS.

You will translate requirements, implement features, test and debug, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Mentoring junior developers and driving architectural decisions will be part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• 3+ years' experience designing, building and maintaining scalable web applications across organisations, incl. startups.
• Recent hands-on experience with React.js, Node.js, NextJS, TypeScript and AWS.
• Experience with serverless architecture, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, responsive web applications across the product suite.
• Translate requirements from BAs and stakeholders into features across React.js, Node.js and NextJS stack.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot performance, reliability and functionality issues.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Keep build notes, API references and release docs current for support teams.
• Stay across emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve products and processes.
• Collaborate with BAs, QA, designers and developers on cross-functional projects.
• Provide guidance to Head of Engineering on architectural options.
• Mentor and support other developers in the tech team.
• Perform other duties related to Full Stack Developer.

Job description

Are you a driven Full Stack Developer looking to build applications used by some of the world's biggest entertainment brands? TPH Global is a leading Accounting SaaS and Payroll service provider for the film and TV industries, working globally with brands including Warner Bros, Netflix, Marvel, Disney and the BBC. With offices in Melbourne and London, we're growing — and looking for another Developer to join our team.

You’ll design, develop and maintain scalable web applications across our product suite, from established products migrating to serverless architecture through to newly launched and legacy platforms. Working across React.js, Node.js, NextJS, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and AWS, you’ll collaborate with BAs, QA and fellow developers, and provide architectural guidance to our Head of Engineering.

Your principal duties and tasks will be to:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, responsive web applications across TPH's established, new and legacy product suite.
• Translate requirements from business analysts and stakeholders into working features across TPH's React.js, Node.js and NextJS stack, building and updating code in line with the team's established standards.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot applications to identify and resolve performance, reliability and functionality issues.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
• Keep build notes, API references and release documentation current so the wider team and support staff can pick up and support what you've built.
• Stay across emerging development technologies and trends, identifying opportunities to improve TPH's products and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, designers and other developers across cross-functional projects.
• Provide advice and guidance to the Head of Engineering on architectural implementation options and emerging technologies.
• Mentor and support other developers within the technology team.
• All other duties related to the position of Full Stack Developer.

Skills and Qualifications of Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• At least 3 years' experience designing, building and maintaining scalable web applications across a range of organisations, including start-up environments. More experience is beneficial.
• Demonstrated recent, hands-on experience with modern web development frameworks and languages, including React.js, Node.js, NextJS, TypeScript and cloud services such as AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).
• Experience with serverless architecture, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
