Job summary

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice invites applications for a Youth Justice Caseworker at the Maitland Youth Justice Community Office. You will provide front line services to young people, detainees, victims of crime and family support, within a multidisciplinary team.

The role focuses on case management, assessment, coordination with courts and agencies, and delivering offence-focused interventions to reduce re-offending and support reintegration.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher tertiary qualifications in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or related field or equivalent experience.
• Current NSW Working with Children Clearance
• Current NSW Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Undertake case management activities targeting appropriate areas of need/risk to reduce re-offending and organise case conferences.
• Collaborate with Youth Justice staff and external stakeholders to connect young people to services per their case plan and monitor progress.
• Provide clear written communications for internal and external stakeholders, including reports and briefs.
• Use screening and assessment tools to identify risks and determine required interventions, including family and crisis interventions.
• Monitor outcome and case plans for compliance and progress, and initiate further actions as needed.
• Maintain accurate client data across information systems to support planning and decision making.

Education
