Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a safety-focused, reliability-driven Operator based at our Stuart Terminal in Townsville on a full-time basis. You will operate medium to heavy forklifts and reach stackers, service and maintain equipment, and ensure safety and efficiency in a fast-paced rail and logistics environment.

Experience with heavy lifting gear and a commitment to safe operations is essential, with licensing (RS, DG preferred) and tickets required or obtained during employment.

Qualifications

• Possess RS Class Drivers Licence (preferred).
• DG license would be highly regarded, but not essential (will be obtained in employment).
• Forklift and Crane tickets held, with mechanical aptitude evident.
• Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of WHS and DG regulations.
• Willingness to work day, afternoon and night shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium/heavy Forklifts and Reach stacker on site.
• Provision, service, clean and perform basic maintenance on rolling stock.
• Conduct serviceability checks on all machines and maintain heavy lifting equipment >16 tonnes.

Join Aurizon and play a key role in keeping Australia's freight network moving. Based at our Stuart Terminal in Townsville, we're seeking safety-focused and reliable Operator to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operators who enjoy hands-on work, operating heavy lifting and terminal equipment, and working as part of a close-knit team in a dynamic rail and logistics environment. About the role:

• Operate medium/heavy Forklifts and Reach stacker, Provision, service, clean and perform lower-level maintenance on rolling stock.
• Serviceability checks on all machines.
• Operate and maintain heavy lifting equipment (exceeding 16 tonne) and other sundry terminal and site equipment.

About you:

• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• RS Class Drivers Licence (preferred).
• DG license would be highly regarded, but not essential (will be obtained in the course of employment).
• Forklift & Crane tickets.
• Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of rules and regulations of operations area, Workplace Health& Safety, and Dangerous Goods.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• A willingness to work day, afternoon & night shift (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as required.
