Job summary

Today is Australia’s most awarded social impact agency. We are seeking a freelance Producer to join the delivery team on a short-term basis from Melbourne, with a day rate of around AUD 900 inc GST.

You’ll manage complex projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and offshore partners, and keep relationships across stakeholders clear and productive. The role is a 3-month freelance contract, with hybrid work options and potential extension.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in an agency, consultancy, government or similar environment.
• Track record delivering strategic, product or digital projects.
• Understanding of human-centred design and iterative development.
• Familiar with both agile and waterfall approaches and when to apply them.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across multiple projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Serve as primary contact for client stakeholders and maintain clear, regular communication.
• Manage requirements, timelines, budgets and dependencies across projects.
• Coordinate daily activities with teams and offshore development when applicable.
• Maintain accurate reporting on budget, scope, risk and status.
• Identify and implement improvements to help the team focus on high-value work.

What's the role?

You’ll deliver projects across a diverse set of active client partnerships, working with multidisciplinary teams of designers, strategists and technologists. You’ll work across varied stakeholder groups, adjusting how you communicate and what tools you use to suit the people in the room.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Leading delivery on multiple projects
• Acting as a primary contact for client stakeholders and keeping communication clear and regular
• Managing requirements, timelines, budgets and dependencies across your projects
• Coordinating the day-to-day, from supporting teams during field research to working with our offshore development team
• Keeping reporting accurate and current, including budget, scope, risk and project status
• Finding ways to improve how we run projects so the team can spend more time on the work that matters

Requirements

Who we’re looking for

You have 4+ years of project management experience in an agency, consultancy, government or similar environment, and a track record managing strategic, product or digital projects. You understand human-centred design and know how to run a project that has research and iteration built into it. You’re comfortable with both agile and waterfall approaches and you know when each one fits.

The details

Full time, 3 month freelance contract, with possibility to extend. Preference for Sydney/Gadigal-based, but also open to Naarm/Melbourne. Hybrid working arrangement. You must be legally able to work in Australia without restrictions. Day rate of roughly $900 per day inc GST.
