Westpac Group is seeking a Fraud Analyst to support Fraud Prevention by monitoring and recalibrating detection strategies that protect customers and the bank from evolving fraud and scam threats. You will analyse large datasets, identify trends, and develop insights to improve detection while balancing customer experience and profitability.

The role emphasises translating data into actionable improvements and building strong cross-team relationships with stakeholders across the bank.

Qualificações

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends and anomalies.
• Experience translating data into meaningful actions and communicating with stakeholders across teams.
• Proficiency with data interrogation using SQL/SAS/Python/R or similar.
• Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor, implement and recalibrate fraud detection strategies to mitigate risk and financial loss.
• Analyse data to identify emerging fraud trends and anomalies.
• Develop insights into fraud patterns to strengthen detection capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to optimise fraud controls while minimising customer impact.
