Job summary

Mace is delivering a complex, large-scale infrastructure programme in Sydney. We seek a seasoned commercial leader to drive procurement, contracts, value engineering and risk management, while steering bids and P&L and building senior client and supplier relationships.

You will provide strategic direction, lead high-performing teams, and report to executive stakeholders, delivering value with safety, integrity and carbon reduction across delivery—hybrid working is available in Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with MRICS/CIOB accreditation and relevant site certifications.
• Proven experience leading bids, managing P&L and senior client relationships.
• Strong communication, leadership and team management across diverse projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial framework of the programme, driving strategic outcomes and KPIs.
• Provide clear leadership to teams, ensuring delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, influencing at board level.
• Maintain full commercial accountability including pursuing variations and extensions.
• Oversee reporting, performance management, coaching and development of teams.
• Champion net zero goals through proactive carbon management across delivery activities.

The Project

This is a complex, large scale, infrastructure programme in Sydney that will benefit the people and bring a positive impact to the community. Working with an amazing client and talented Mace team, this project will be of incredibly high-quality standards in a heavily regulated environment, suiting people with similar project experience that operate with the highest integrity and professionalism.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Lead the commercial framework of the programme, driving strategic outcomes and sub function KPIs.
• Provide clear leadership to teams, ensuring excellence in delivery and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with senior internal and external stakeholders, influencing at c suite and board level.
• Maintain full commercial accountability, including pursuing additional sums, extensions of time and claims.
• Oversee reporting, performance management, coaching and development to build high performing teams.
• Champion net zero goals through proactive carbon management across delivery activities.

You’ll Need To Have

• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in procurement, contracts, value engineering and risk management.
• Proven experience leading bids, managing P&L and building senior client and supply chain relationships.
• Effective communicator with strong leadership, presentation and team management capability across diverse projects.
• Degree qualified with professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS/CIOB) and relevant site certifications (CSCS, SMSTS).
